A career would last for your entire life as long as you do not deviate from this line. Most people change careers a lot in their life but if you stick to a career laced with things you enjoy doing, you would be very successful in no time as you progress through your career.

As dicey as it may sound, jobs make up your career. Even though it is defined as anything you can do to make money on a daily, it still furthers your career if you get a job in your career line. A job is mostly about “now” and rarely ever worries about the future.

Most persons are of the opinion that a job would limit the furtherance of your career because you would constantly be chasing after money and tasks your employer has set out for you, instead of focusing on yourself and your career.

Even though it may seem like you are not furthering your career with a job and working for just now, you must know that if you pay attention, there is a lot you can get from working a job.

- A career and job would help you expand your network. In most career and jobs, you would be required to attend conferences, seminars and social events. In attending these, you would meet new people whom you can share experiences and learning with.
- In pursuing a career and a job, you would be required to apply for internships. Internships would help you in both a career and a job to break into any sector you want to. You may however, need certifications to get you into doors to do the internships.
- They are both focused on earning your money. The major reasons for pursuing a career and a job is for the purpose of making money. Both can make you enough money depending on the amount of work you put into it.
What are the Differences between a Career and a Job?
Even though there are similarities between the two, there are also several differences between a career and a job.

A career is stable while a job is unstable
So far as you have the qualifications and experience you need, you can always have a career.
As the world evolves, following the rise in technology and putting into consideration factors like recession, you can lose your job at any time.

A career increases the value you can offer on the long run and ensures you would get higher pay and better benefits.
A job is much steadier and fixed. Your pay would be stable and it does not matter that you can offer value and have learnt more during your employment.

You cannot have a career without a job. A career consists of all the jobs you have worked so far as they all geared toward the purpose of improving your career as a whole.

A mentor is someone who can offer your support and guidance throughout your career. Pick someone with a job title you aspire to have one day.
Ask them how they got to where they are today. Use this relationship to learn what you need to do to progress in a specific field or industry.

2. Ask for more responsibilities
When you feel like you need more of a challenge at work, ask your employer for additional tasks. This can show that you are ambitious and ready for the next level in your career.
