Kate Edger Educational Charitable Trust for first-year doctoral awards: 

This award is worth 10 000 dollars and available once a year for first-year doctorate degrees in law.
Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or hold a permanent residency in New Zealand or have proof of enrolment for the Ph.D. program at and Auckland research institute and have access to the infrastructural support needed for her research degree.
The application deadline is the 10th of April each year.


University of Copenhagen Ph.D. scholarships at iCourts, Faculty of Law:

This is a fully-funded scholarship program for international students to study Ph.D. program in law at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. It is available to international students.

The application deadline is December 14h, 2022. It is worth a monthly salary and an annual research budget. However, accommodation is not included in this scholarship scheme.


Aga Khan Foundation Scholarship Scheme:

the scholarship is for students with excellent academic records from developing countries without any other means of funding their education.
The scholarship involves a fifty percent loan and a fifty percent grant and granted through a highly competitive application process.


Indian Equality Law Ph.D. scholarship:

This is available for international students at Melbourne University to pursue a Ph.D. degree in law. It is worth a full offset fee and an annual stipend of 30 600 Australian dollars for a period of three and a half years with a relocation allowance of 3 000 Australian dollars for candidates moving from outside Australia.
In addition, beneficiaries from this scheme are eligible to apply for up to 4 000 Australian dollars for project funding for their research.


University of Cape Town Postdoctoral Research Fellowship:

This grants South African students a grant to study Mineral Law in Africa at the University of Cape Town for their Ph.D. The scholarship is worth R 220 000 for an academic session.
The scholarship is accepted in South Africa.


Auckland University of Technology Business, Economics and Law Doctorate scholarship funds:

This scholarship is awarded to international students in New Zealand to study Business, Economics, and Law for a doctorate degree for the first time. The scholarship is automatic for applicants who are admitted for a Ph.D. program in Law, Business and Economics, hence, the criteria for eligibility are the same as that for admission to New Zealand.

The scholarship covers domestic tuition and other student services fees and it is accepted around New Zealand.


Commonwealth scholarship at New Zealand:

This is available for eligible commonwealth countries (Nigeria inclusive), to study a Ph.D. program in New Zealand. The scholarship lasts for three and a half years.


Auckland University of technology China construction Bank Postgraduate finance scholarship:

this scholarship is available for international students with excellent academic records at the Auckland University of technology to pursue a Ph.D. program in Law. The scholarship lasts for one year and is accepted in New Zealand.


Prince of Wales Cambridge International Scholarship:

offers a scholarship to graduates of high academic ability to study at Cambridge University in Britain for their Ph.D. programs and this includes Ph.D. in Law. The application deadline is 1st October 2022.
The scholarship is open to New Zealand citizens who wish to pursue a course of research leading to a Ph.D. at Cambridge University.


Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders’ Fellowships Ph.D. research scholarship (Sylff):

This is worth an annual stipend of up to 25 000 dollars per year in addition to research expenses and spans for a period of three years for the Ph.D. program and two years for a master’s program.
It is available annually to any student with excellent academic records at any New Zealand University for a Ph.D. or Master’s program, and the application deadline is the 1st of October every year.


Keir Trust Study Award:

this scholarship is available to students who, if not for the award, have no other means of funding their education at Auckland University of Technology every year. This scholarship is available for different fields of study including a Ph.D. in Law.
Applicants must be New Zealand citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand

The scholarship is worth 13 000 dollars for students from Auckland and 18 000 dollars for students outside the Auckland area. The application deadline is 30th September every year.


Fullbright New Zealand general graduate awards:

This scholarship is worth 31 000 dollars plus travel expenses and insurance for one year.
It is available for promising graduate students with excellent academic records and who wish to pursue their Ph.D. in any field of their choice and this includes Law and applicants must take up a full-time postgraduate study or research at a US institution for at least six months.
The application deadline is the first of August every year.


Rhodes Scholarship scheme:

the scholarship is available for students at Oxford University.
The trust fund takes care of the beneficiaries’ college fees, university application fees, a stipend, one economy class airfare to Oxford University, and one economic airfare back to the student’s home country after the studies.
The application deadline is 16th July 2022.


Gordon Watson scholarship:

this scheme offers an annual scholarship and is worth 12 000 dollars per year and lasts for three years for Ph.D. or two years for a master’s program at any university overseas in Europe, Asia or the USA.
This is available for applicants who must have graduated with a bachelor’s degree in arts, science, commerce, law or divinity. The application deadline is the 1st of March every year.
